Effective this morning, Apple has officially made iOS 4 available to iPhone 3G and 3GS users via iTunes. To update, ensure you have the latest version of iTunes(9.2) and plug the device in. If not automatically prompted, click on the iPhone icon on the toolbar on the left-hand side of iTunes, and go to the summary page, selecting "Check for Update". Before updating, make sure to backup your applications and content so it can easily be synced to your device running the new iOS 4. iPhone 3G users be warned - some iOS 4 features are only compatible with the 3GS and upcoming iPhone 4 models, such as multi-tasking.
